Kindness Changes Everything

Hello Kindred Spirit,
Let’s face it. It’s easy to feel wrung out by the world, isn’t it? There is so much need for love and connection. It can feel hard to stretch our arms wider than is physically possible. Plus, we’ve got a lot of people to care for in our little corner among humanity. But we can stretch ourselves a bit more. We can open our hearts and let love shine.
It takes faith. We believe wholeheartedly in the beauty and dignity of humankind. We also believe that we can inspire one another. We can stand tall, walk among kindred spirits, and enlist others along the way.
The truth of the matter is kindness changes everything. We define kindness as love in action. It’s too easy to opt out when things seem tough or when we are tired. It takes a bit of effort.
Plant seeds.
Just like tending to a garden, we must sort through the flowers and the weeds, find breathing space, and nourish the soil. By being kind to yourself and others—taking in the good stuff and limiting the bad—we nourish our souls.
We also need to remind each other every day of our divine source and birthright:
Our spirits are made of love.
The most direct connection to this truth is through kindness.
We’ve heard from so many peeps that daily life can feel overwhelming and over-scheduled. Just turn on the news and it’s natural to feel overcome with distress. Just taking a look at the to-do list that keeps adding up and who wouldn’t want to hide? We can get caught up in a “strive and survive mode.” Let’s face it, that’s often where we’re at. At the same time we forget to slow down and breathe, to appreciate small pleasures and joys, and to intentionally offer or receive kindness. We can’t let those good moments pass us by.
Here’s the thing, Beautiful Soul, we need to remember who we are. And when it gets tough? Keep trying. Keep showing up. Keep believing in a joyful and friendly world.
Keep kindling kindness.
